![]() ![]() But the 1st step did successfully get rid of the thermal calibration alarms in my experience. So the code I found for the 2nd step is what got rid of that prompt. Since my printer is in the garage and my computer is inside, I kept having to go back and forth turning on the printer and acknowledging the prompt, then coming back in to connect OctoPrint from the computer, then going back out to the garage to acknowledge the prompt again, then coming back in to start a print. That’s very good news for those with Prusa equipment looking to get the advantages of the Revo system like leak prevention and greater reliability on their machines. ![]() But every time I turned on my printer or connected to it through OctoPrint, a little prompt was present on the printer’s LCD screen saying something to the effect of “You still need to do your thermal calibration”, which required a click of the wheel to acknowledge. E3D and Prusa Research have also started a task force to work on the Thermal Model for PTC/Revo hotends. Revo Prusa MK3 Revo CR Revo Voron Revo Hemera XS Revo Micro An optimised heatsink for RapidChange Revo. The M310 S0 command should disable the calibration function, and then the M500 (as a separate, subsequent command) should save the M310 S0 to the EEPROM memory so that you don’t have to execute it again after the next reboot.Īfter I did these 2 commands, the whole temperature calibration model thing stopped bugging me and preventing me from printing. Thermal runaway protection still works, and your printer will still be safer and of higher quality than 90% of the printers out there. The sky won’t fall if you bypass this “important” safety feature. I’ve been running it this way almost nonstop since 3 days after the new firmware released, and it runs like it always has. My printer is in an enclosure in my garage. I am just advocating against the idea that you HAVE to revert back to previous firmware. I’m not advocating one way or the other as far as what you do. Namely Short Bowden, All-in-one Extruders, and Remote Direct Drive. Yes, I did the exact same thing a few weeks ago. There are some subsets of Direct Drive to be aware of. RE: E3D Revo 6 hotend, Arrived and so far Im not impressed. Image Source.Image2: Revo Hemera XS, our most advanced All-in-one Extrusion system yet. ![]() But it’s a safety feature that has obviously never existed before, or there would have been a Revo issue with previous iterations of the firmware. Image1: Prusa MK3S+ Extruder with a V6 HotEnd. I upgraded firmware and went through the two-step process of disabling the thermal calibration and then disabling the prompt whenever you turn on the printer, because the prompt requires acknowledgement every time you reconnect OctoPrint.Īgain, I get it. There are thousands and thousands of shitty cheap Chinese printers out there, and people act like your house is going to burn down if you bypass this safety feature on a Prusa. I understand that it’s a safety issue, but you do not HAVE to downgrade your firmware. ![]()
